New IP Router Subsystem Introduced

Curtiss-Wright Corporation introduces its new mobile IP Router Subsystem, the Parvus DuraMAR 5915 3X Series, to its defense solutions division. This subsystem includes an Integrated Cisco 5915 ESR Router and a Low-Power Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) Switch. It also includes a high bandwidth, 23 Ethernet ports, and advanced security features. There are four different configurations of this subsystem available which include the 0x, 1x, 2x and 3x series.

This subsystem is popular because it is light-weight, compact, minimizes training, offers advanced networking, and reduces power consumption by 25 percent. It was designed for use in the harshest aerospace and military environments possible. “It enables system integrators to easily deploy Cisco Mobile Ready Net capabilities, including data, video and voice services, virtually anywhere LAN or WAN connectivity may be required, especially in mobile, airborne, ground, sensor and manned/unmanned vehicle applications,” according to the company.

“The Parvus DuraMAR 5915 3X extends high-speed network connectivity capabilities at the network edge. It layers Cisco technology with fully managed GbE switching capabilities from Curtiss-Wright to significantly increase the number of tactical devices connected at GbE speeds onboard aircraft and vehicles in harsh environments,” Lynn Bamford, senior vice president of the defense solutions division, said.
